Haworthia species are naturally found in South Africa growing in semi arid regions in well drained moderately fertile moist sandy-stony soils. They prefers an open sunny position and need protection from wet winters and are drought tolerant but frost tender.

These tough succulent plants are grown for their foliage and clumping habit. They are planted in rockeries or succulent and arid gardens. They are also used as a glasshouse specimen in cold regions or commonly as a potted house-plant. They establish in 2-3 years from division and require little maintenance.ID 676
