This small tree has mutable silvery-grey trunks with spreading branches that form a dense crown. It has glossy green lanced-shaped leaves and the yellowish buds open to white flowers that appear in a cluster during spring.

It is also used in street plantings and is ideal for under wires. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions and establishes in 2-4 years and is moderately long lived.
