Hardiness zones 8 to 10

Eucalyptus paniculatais naturally found in Australia growing on the east coast of New South Wales from Bega in the south to Coffs Harbour in the north appearing in open forests in valley floors or stony ridges not far from the sea.

It prefers a deep well drained fertile moist, sandy to clay loam in an open sunny position and is frost and drought tolerant.

Grey Ironbark is grown for its dense spreading crown and its timber. It is planted in parks and large gardens as a lawn specimen for shade or used along roadsides and in open plains. It is fast growing when young and establishes in 2 to 4 years. The timber is very strong and durable and is used in construction. ID 636

Note:
It is not suitable for urban gardens due to its size. Care should be taken when selecting a site, allowing ample room for it to grow as it has vigorous invasive roots that can lift concrete and block drains.
