This small tree has a greyish trunk with many spreading branches that form a broad rounded crown. It has divided glossy dark green leaves with a soft appearance and the white-yellow trumpet-shaped flowers appear in a cluster during summer.

China Doll is grown for its foliage and spreading crown. It is planted in small or tropical gardens along borders for screening or used as a small lawn specimen for shade. When young it is grown as a potted indoor plant and establishes in 2-3 years and is long lived.
