This epiphyte cactus forms a low clumping bushy habit with long slender stems that have spine-like leaves on the edges. The small greenish white star-shaped flowers appear terminally during spring.

It is suitable for tropical gardens on the coast and in the lower mountains and establishes in 2 to 4 years. It is long lived and prefers a humid environment.
