This large shrub to small tree has upright spreading branches that form a rounded crown. It has large mid green soft textured ovate leaves and the large creamy-white to pink pendant trumpet-shaped flowers appear during summer.

Brugmansia versicolor is naturally found from Central to South America growing in well drained fertile sandy to light clay solis with added organic matter in an open sunny position and tolerates drought but is frost tender.

Datura is grown for its pendent flowers and bushy habit. It is planted in small gardens along borders or grown as a curiosity plant. It is also planted in herb gardens and used for medicinal purposesand establish in 2 to 3 years with the flowers appearing prolifically from an earlier age. ID 581
