This large tree has grey-brown bark that sheds to reveal reddish straight trunk with spreading branches that form a dense crown. It has dark green leathery lanced-shaped leaves and the creamy white flowers appear in a cluster from summer to autumn.

Corymbia gummiferais naturally found in Australia growing on the east coast from south-east Queensland to the Victorian border varieing in growth habit and size depending on soil type and environmental conditions.

It prefers a well drained moderatly fertile loams but will tolerate poor sandy soils and grows in a open sunny position tolerateing drought, frost and second line salt.
