This is a warm season perennial grass spreads both by stolons and rhizomes and forms a prostrate habit. It has fine texture dark green lanced-shaped leaves that turn brown when dormant. If closely mown it forms a compact dense lawn.

When used in fine turf areas such as bowling greens or golf courses intense culture is needed to overcome thatch build-up.
