This shrub has erect stems with spreading branches that form a bushy habit. It has large yellow-green broad-oblong leaves that are a feature and the insignificant cream to pink tube-shaped flowers appear in sprays during late spring.

Hakea victoriais naturally found in south-western Western Australia growing in sandy to quartzite soil types in open sunny position and is drought and frost resistant.
The Royal Hakea is grown for its colourful foliage and is planted in small to medium size gardens as a specimen. It is also grown in containers and establishes in 2-3 years and is moderately long lived. The foliage is commonly used in floral arrangements and the plant requires perfect drainage. ID 396
