This perennial succulent sub-shrub has grey fleshy branched stems and forms a compact clumping habit. It has a large fleshy mid green elliptical leaves and the tube to bell-shaped red flowers appear in a pendant cluster above the foliage during late summer.

It is also grown as a low border or filler plant in raised beds.
