Acacia dealbata naturally found in Australia growing in the southern east coast of New South Wales and Victoria on the mountains and in protected coastal gullies.

It prefers a moist sandy loam but is found growing on a variety of moderately fertile soil types in a sunny to semi shaded open position and is frost hardy but drought tender.

Silver Wattle is grown for its vigorous habit and its bright yellow flowers. It is planted in parks and gardens as a specimen along borders or used as a windbreak or for erosion control. It is also grown as a small shade tree that varies in size according to the parent rock and may sucker with age. It establishes in 2-3 years and is commonly cultivated in Australia and overseas.
