Petunia x hybrida is naturally found in South America from Argentina to Brazil growing in well drained fertile moist light soils in an open sunny position and is frost and drought tender.

Petunias are grown for their flowers and are used in bedding displays or annual beds in small or large gardens for colour. They are also grown in hanging baskets or used in gardens for a tropical effect and establish in one season. Grandiflora is available in single or doubles forms and there are many cultivars with a wide colour range. The cultivar 'Cascade' is used for window boxes and hanging baskets. ID 301
