This large tree has a solitary trunk with rough bark at the base and is up to 2m (6ft) in diameter and becomes prominently buttressed. It has spreading smooth pink branches that form a rounded crown with dark green leathery lanced-shaped leaves and the creamy flowers appear in a cluster during late spring.

Lophostemon confertusis naturally found in Australia growing on the central east coast of New South Wales and Queensland in tall forests that are transitory between Eucalyptus forests and rainforests.
It grows in heavy clay to sandy soils that are moist and rich and it prefers an open sunny position but will tolerate some shade and is frost and drought tender.
