This large tree has rough grey bark at the base becoming smooth bluish-white with spreading branches that form a medium rounded crown. It has a leathery lanced-shaped green leaves and the small cream flowers appear in a cluster during winter.

Eucalyptus grandisis naturally found in Australia growing from the northern east coast of New South Wales to southern Queensland in valleys and prefering rainforest fringes where it forms a canopy over young rainforest. It is very fast growing attaining a hight between 3 and 7 m (10 to 20ft) in the first year.
It prefers a well drained basalt derived alluvial loam but tolerates a heavy moist soil and grows in a open sunny position and is drought and frost tender.
Flooded Gum is a large tree that is grown for its habit and is planted in large gardens or forest settings. It is suitable for coastal and low-mountain regions establishing in 3 to 5 years and is long lived. This is an important timber tree for the north-east coast and is used in honey production. ID 233
