Sawara Cypress is a vigorous long-lived tree that is grown for its conical habit. It planted in large gardens and parks as a specimen. It is also used in woodland settings in low mountain regions and establishes in 4-6 years. The cultivars are normally grown in containers or rock gardens and are more commonly seen. They are also used in Japanese gardens for colour contrast, or as bonsai specimen and are slow growing but hardy.
Note:
This tree produces a conical crown that may become broad with multiple leaders and the lower branches sweep to the ground and sometimes are self-layering.
