This annual to semi-perennial has many slender stems that form a compact mounded habit. It has bluish green lanced-shaped leaves and the blue, pink, orange, purple and yellow snapdragon-like flowers appear in a raceme above the foliage in spring or autumn.

Linaria maroccana is naturally found in Morocco growing in well drained, fertile moist sandy soil with a pH range from 5.5 to 6.5 and prefers an open sunny position and is frost and drought tender.
Toad Flax is grown for its flowers and is planted in small or cottage gardens along front borders. It is also mass planted for bedding displays in parks and gardens.
