This vigorous shrub has woody stems that form a spiky rounded habit. It has narrow dark green pointed leaves and the white to pale mauve 2-lipped flowers appear solitary towards the end of the branchlets from spring to summer.

It prefers a well drained sandy to light clay stony soil in a open to exposed sunny position and is salt spray, drought and frost resistant.

The Long Leaved Westringia is a vigorous shrub is grown for its habit and flowers. It is planted in small gardens along borders as a low screening plant or trimmed to form a hedge. It is suitable for coastal positions and establishes in 1 to 2 years and is moderately long lived. It can also be grown in tubs and planter boxes or used in roof gardens and is ideal for new gardens.
