Grevillea robusta
is naturally found in Australia from the Clarence River in New South Wales to Maryborough in south eastern Queensland growing along watercourses.

It prefers a moist deep well drained acidic sandy to clay soil in an open sunny to semi-shaded position and is drought, frost, pollution and lime soil tolerant.

Silky Oak is grown for its bright flowers and its domed crown. It is planted in parks and large gardens as a specimen tree or used for shade. It establishes in 2 to 3 years and is suitable for coastal settings. It is also used in sub tropical gardens and when young it is grown as an indoor plant. Under ideal conditions it self-seeds and may become a weed.ID 159

Note:
Care should be taken when selecting a sight allowing ample room for it to grow as it has vigorous roots that can lift concrete and block drains.
