This vigorous cultivar shrub is upright with horizontal branching that forms a bushy habit. The lobed leaves are coppery red ageing to green and the long lasting small red tube-shaped flowers appear in a raceme from winter to spring.

Ivanhoe is grown for its reddish new growth and its flowers. It is planted in parks and gardens as a specimen or along borders for screening and can be used as an informal hedge.
