This small tree has a short smooth brown trunk with spreading branches that form a dense rounded crown. It has silvery leaves that are covered in white hairs when young and the fragrant golden yellow flowers appear in a raceme during early winter.

It prefers a poor to moderately fertile sandy well-drained soil and grows in a open sunny position and is frost tender when young but drought and salt spray tolerant.
The Queensland Silver Wattle is grown for its flowers and its rounded crown. It is planted in parks and gardens along shrub borders for screening or trained to form a small shade tree. It establishes in 1 to 2 years growing quickly but is short lived from 7 to 15 years. The foliage is used in floral arrangements and the tree attracts birds and insects. ID 140
