Senna pendulavar. glabra is naturally found from South America to the West Indies growing along woodland margins.
It prefers a well drained poor to moderately fertile moist light sandy soil and is pH adaptable. It grows in an open sunny to semi shaded position and is drought tolerant but frost tender.
The Easter Cassia is a hardy shrub that can be used as a filler plant in borders. It is quick growing but short lived and is used in new gardens for its flowers and for its autumn colour. It grows to 1m (3ft) tall in one season and is regarded as a weed in many regions as it self-sows readily.ID 111
