This large tree has a massive single trunk with mottled tan-green to cream bark and spreading branches that form a broad rounded crown. It has large dark green lobed leaves and the clusters of pale green flowers appear during spring.

It is hardy and long lived and will establish in 3 to 5 years becoming massive with roots that can damage drains and walls requiring ample room to grow.
