Thisvigorous shrub forms an erect compact round habit. It has divided glossy dark green leaves and the small star-shaped fragrant white flowers appear in a cluster of three during spring.

Choisya ternateis naturally found in southern North America growing in Mexico in coastal and inland regions.

It prefers a well drained fertile moist acidic to neutral soil including chalky based with a pH range from 6.0 to 7.8 and grows in a sunny to partially shaded position and is drought and frost tolerant.

The Mexican Orange Blossom is grown for its fragrant flowers and its bushy habit. It is planted along semi shaded borders as a low screen or used in fragrant gardens. It is also grown as a specimen in tubs or planter boxes and can be espaliered against a wall. It establishes in 3-5 yearsand is long-lived. In cold regions it is grown in a glasshouse and requires a indirect well-lit area and liquid fertiliser should be applied monthly during the growing period. ID 52
