This erect shrub branches from the base forming a dense rounded to vase-shaped habit. The glossy green leaves have oval leaflets and the fragrant creamy-white funnel-shape flowers appear in a cluster in late spring and again in late summer.

Murraya paniculata is naturally found from Malaysia to India and southern China growing forest margins and shrubland. It prefers a well drained organic rich fertile moist soil and is pH adaptable and grows inan open sunny to semi shaded humid position and is frost and drought tender.
Murraya is grown for its dense growth habit and its perfumed flowers. It is planted in parks and gardens as a specimen or in groups along borders for screening. It can also be trimmed to form a hedge and can be used in large pots or tubs with reliable moisture. It establishes in 3 to 5 years and attains 75cm (3in) or more in height per season and is long lived.
