This densely pubescent shrub is similar to the species growing up to 1.5 m (5 ft) tall and has longer and narrower lanceolate leaves and produces a greater number of flower spikes in complex panicles. It naturally occurs north-east of Esperance as far as Mt. Ragged growing in sandy soil in the inland mallee region. It grows in USDA zones 9-10.
