Sub-species
subsp. pterocarpa
This subspecies grows to 4 m (12 ft) tall and produces orange-yellow to pink flowers from summer to late winter and grows in very well drained sandy-clay soils with a limestone base and is found in coastal and inland regions of central Western Australia.
subsp. acicularis
This rare subspecies forms a bushy shrub up to 2.5 m (8 ft) tall and produces red-pink flowers during winter. It is found in inland regions of central Western Australia growing in clay depressions or salty or alkaline flats
