Variations
There are 3-main colour forms and are recognised as varieties of the species.
Aloe cryptopoda
This plant has narrow conical racemes of red buds that open to red flowers.

Aloe wickensii
This smaller plant produces broad conical racemes that have red buds but open to yellow-red (bicolour).

Aloe wickensii var. lutea
This plant has narrow conical racemes of yellow buds that open to yellow flowers.
