Cultivars
'Erromena'
This large clump forming herbaceous perennial has upright oblong mid green leaves that taper to a long acuminate apex. From spring to autumn it produces nodding white to pale mauve tube-shaped flowers that appear in a terminal racemes high above the foliage on a long slender leafy scape.
'Mediovariegata'
This clump forming herbaceous perennial has a large broad ovate leaves with a central white stripe on the upper surface. From early to mid summer it produces upright racemes of a purplish nodding funnel-shaped flowers and is commonly planted in front borders or used as a container specimen. It prefers a semi-shaded to filtered light position and is used in woodland settings.
'Univittata'
This rhizomatous herbaceous perennial has upright foliage with undulating margins and a curved apex. The upper surface is a deep green with central broad white markings and during midsummer it produces pale lavender funnelform flowers in a upright raceme on a scape that is up to 800 mm (44 in) tall. This commonly cultivated perennial is use along shaded borders or is grown as a container plant requiring a semi-shaded wind protected position.
'Variegata'
This herbaceous perennial grows to 600 mm (2 ft) tall and wide with upright foliage and forms a mounded clump. It has broad-ovate green leaves with a large white central stripe that extends to be twisted acuminate apex. It prefers a semi-shaded to shade position and grows in well drained organic rich moist soils.
