This shrub is a similar to the species with musk scented foliage and produces large pale-violet flowers during summer. It is a very drought and heat tolerant and attracts bees, humming birds and butterflies.
'Winifred Gilman'
This shrub is similar to the species with grey green foliage that is intensely fragrant and produces large blue violet flowers during summer. It is an easy plant to cultivate tolerating frost but is not as drought tolerant as the species. It prefers an open sunny position and grows on well-drained moderately fertile sandy stony soils.
'Pozo Blue'
Salvia clevlandii x Salvia leucophylla
This perennial form of sage has grey green fragrant foliage and produces fragrant violet flowers in clusters during summer. It is the very drought tolerant and grows in sandy to heavy clay soils in an open sunny position. It attracts humming birds and butterflies and in coastal positions it tolerates salt spray.
