This small tree grows to 15 m (49 ft) tall with dark green pinnate leaves up to 450 mm (18 in) long and consist of 7-13 elliptical to ovate leaflets with an acute or acuminate apex. The fruiting spike is up to 600 mm (2 ft) long and is followed by 8mm (? in) long orbicular winged nutlets that are up to 25 mm (1 in) wide and appear during midsummer. It naturally appears in the forests on valley floors or in the lower mountains at an altitude up to 3300 m (10826 ft).
