'Candy Hearts' Dicentra peregrinax Dicentra eximia
This compact dwarf rhizomatous perennial grows to 300 mm (1 ft) tall by 150 mm (6 in) wide with blue-grey foliage and produces rose pink heart-shaped lightly fragrant flowers in clusters above the foliage from spring to summer.
It grows in a semi-shaded to shaded moist position in USDA zones 3-8. This small perennial is grown as a specimen in containers or planted long borers and attracts humming birds.
'Ivory Hearts' Dicentra eximiax Dicentra peregrina
This compact dwarf rhizomatous perennial grows to 300 mm (1 ft) tall by 400 mm (16 in) wide with blue-grey foliage and produces white heart-shaped flowers in clusters above the foliage from spring to summer.
It grows in a semi-shaded to shaded moist position on sandy to clay soils and is pH adaptable. This small perennial is grown as a specimen in containers, alpine or rock gardens, along shaded borers and is bird attracting. USDA zones 3-8
