'Fastigiata' Hybrid Service Tree
This small tree has a solitary trunk with ascending branches grows to 15 m (45 ft) tall and by 3 m (10 ft) wide and forms a columnar habit that matures to a small dome with a glossy lobed leaves.
During spring it has clusters of small white bell-shaped flowers that are followed by large clusters of bright red berry-like fruit. It is ideal for street plantings or is used in small urban gardens, tolerating pollution and neglect once established.
It prefers an open sunny to partially shaded position and grows in most well-drained fertile moist soils that a tending acidic in USDA zones 3-9.
'Gibbsii'
This small tree grows to 12 m (38 ft) tall with ascending branches forming a narrow domed habit. It has glossy dark green lobed leaves and produces abundant creamy white bell-shaped flowers in large clusters that are followed by red berry-like fruit.
It is planted along borders for screening in parks or gardens tolerating most well-drained fertile soils in USDA zones 4-9.
