Sub-species
subsp. arizonica     Arizona Chalk Dudleya
This perennial is are similar to the species and is found in the lower mountains from an altitude of 600 m (1900 ft) to 1500 m (4900 ft). It forms a stem that is up to 40 mm (1? in) wide and has up to 25 oblong to oblong-obovate leaves per rosette that are up to 50 mm (2in) wide.

It is found from southern California to Nevada, western Arizona and north-west Mexico growing in rocky places in desert mountains. Note: this taxon is undergoing a name change.
