This dwarf fern is similar to the species only smaller with fronds up to 120 mm (4µ in) long and grows to a height of 150 mm (6 in) tall by 300 mm (1 ft) wide. It forms a dense mound and is rare in its native habitat and normally grows along the west coast of North America.
