var.angustifolia syn. Hebe stenophylla
This small shrub grows to 1.2 m (4 ft) tall with many glabrous slender branches forming a compact rounded habit. It has linear to linear-lanceolate, dark green leaves with an acute apex and produces slightly pendant racemes up to 125 mm (5in) long of bluish-white flowers during summer.

It naturally occurs in rocky places along water courses margins from sea level to an altitude of 1060 m (2,968 ft). It is commonly planted in small gardens along borders or may be used in containers and is frosts and drought tolerant.

var. arborea
This large shrub to small tree grows to 6 m (20 ft) tall with dark green, narrow lanceolate leaves that are up to 35 mm (1? in) long by 4 mm (? in) wide. It produces white flowers in a dense raceme during summer and will tolerate cooler conditions. It is planted in gardens as a specimen or used along borders for screening.

Cultivars
'Holdsworth'
This upright shrub grows to 1.5 m (5 ft) tall with glossy dark green narrow lanceolate leaves up to 40 mm (1? in)long. It produces long racemes of white flowers during summer and tolerates cooler conditions, as it is commonly cultivated in the UK. It is grown as a specimen and along low borders or maybe trim to form an informal hedge.

'Palmerston'
This is a bushy shrub grows to 1 m (3ft) tall and has narrow-lanceolate dark green leaves up to 75 mm (3in) long. It produces white flowers that appear in dense racemes above the foliage from summer to autumn. This cold hardy plant is used along garden borders as a specimen or planted in rockeries.
