var. pendula Temple Pika
This tree is upright with short pendant branches to ground level forming a fastigate habit. The new growth in yellow-green contrasting with the darker mature foliage and the tree is commonly planted along borders or against a wall for screen planting.
As it matures it requires wind protection as it tends to list to one side and pruning is not normally requires but the tree will re-shoot from a hard prune. Once established it has a high water requirement (Scale: 3-drops from 3), and responds to an occasional deep watering or misting to increase humidity.
