This perennial succulent has a very compact symmetrical growth habit up to 250mm (9µ in)tall by 300mm (12 in) wide with dark green leathery leaves that are 150mm (6 in) long by 50mm (2 in) wide and have numerous curly white fibres along the margins. The apex has a pungent spine and the flowers are similar to the species and appear high above the foliage from late spring to early summer. It is an ideal plant for patio pots and planter boxes and is suitable for small or arid gardens.
