Cultivar
Telopea mongaensis x speciosissima

'Braidwood Brilliant'
This cross was produced at the Australian National Botanic Garden in Canberra and is similar to both species. It grows to 2m (6ft) tall and wide with a bushy habit and produces brilliant deep crimson bird attracting flowers during spring.

Once established it has a low water requirement (Scale: 1-drop from 3) and prefers a slightly acidic soil and responds to low phosphorous mulch. It is planted as a specimen in parks and gardens and may be clipped to keep a bushy habit along a border.
