'Aurora'
This shrub grows to 2.5m (8ft) tall with woody stems that form a slightly dense weeping habit with new growth that is pale-rose turning red then burgundy during winter.
The mature leaves are dark green with a velvety texture and the plant is used in hedging, tolerating regular pruning or in shrub borders for screening.
It can also be grown in containers and is bird attracting. It grows in semi-shade to full sun on moist well drained organic rich soils. It is frost and drought tender and has a medium water requirement once established.
'Blushing Beauty'
This small shrub grows to 1.5m (5ft) tall by 1.25m (4ft) wide forming a dense bushy habit with dark burgundy new growth for most of the year.
The small white cup-shaped flowers appear in clusters during summer and are followed by black coloured fruit that is bird attracting. It prefers a semi-shaded protected position but will tolerate full sun and grows in most well drained, moist fertile soils.
It is used in screen planting or as a hedge and is ideal as a tub specimen for a shaded patio or veranda. It is light frost tolerant but drought tender and hasa medium water requirement once established.
