Variations
Glaucous Form
This upright shrub grows to 2m (6ft) and 3m (10ft) wide with large blue-green leaves. The red to orange flowers can be showy or small and dull and the plant is commonly found on well drained gravely clay in an open sunny position.

Green-leaf Form
The plant produces broad bright green leaves that are crinkly or stiff and the flowers are orange-red to dark red.

Prostrate Green-leaf Form
This prostrate plant can grow to 1m (3ft) across with deeply lobed leaves and produces dull red flowers. It is commonly found around swamps or moist low lying areas.

Prostrate Glaucous Form
This mound forming to prostrate plant attains a height of 500mm (20in) tall and has small dull red-orange flowers. It grows in moderately fertile well drained sandy soils.

Cultivar
'Sunrise'
This plant forms a small compact shrub to 1.5m (5ft) tall and is frost and drought resistant, producing apricot-coloured flowers during autumn. Tolerates most well drained soils and may be lightly trimmed.
