Cultivars
'Aconitifolium', syn. 'Filicifolium', 'Laciniatum'
This tree has fern-like deeply lobed leaves that turn a beautiful crimson during autumn and tree can grow to 16m (50ft) but under cultivation it is normally much smaller. The flowers are conspicuous and abundant during late spring.
'Aureum'
This shrub to small tree grows to 7m (21ft) and has golden yellow foliage and is an excellent colour contrast during summer.
'Green Cascade'
This weeping form has divided leaves that turn orange-red during autumn.
'Vitifolium'
This plant has leaves that are lobed deeper than the species and are up to 250mm (10in) long. During autumn they turn dark red orange or yellow adding brilliant colour to the garden.
