Cultivars
'Black Magic'
This attractive perennial forms clumps of upright blackish leaves. It is an excellent contrast specimen plant and is used in ponds or boggy areas tolerating most soils. It grows in full sun to semi shade up to a height of 1.5m (5ft) and is drought and frost tender.

'Fontanesii'
This plant is simular to the species and produces dark red leaf stalks and veins on the upper surface. It is used for colour contrast in tropical gardens and has a high water requirement once established. (Scale: 3-drops from 3)
