Sub-species
subspp. paludosa
This spreading shrub grows to 3m (10ft) tall and 5m (15ft) wide and is found on the southern tablelands of New South Wales growing around wet peaty swamps.
It prefers moderately drained acidic sandy to clay loams in a full sun to semi shaded position. This plant is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtained, requiring a specialist nursery.
subspp. stenomera
This spreading shrub grows to 1.5m (5ft) tall and 3m (10ft) wide and produces grey-pink flowers. It is found on the northern tablelands in heath or woodlands normally along water courses and prefers a peaty or sandy loam that is tending acidic.
It grows in full sun to partial shade and tolerates frost to -6ºC (20ºF) and is grown as far south as Melbourne. This plant is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtained, requiring a specialist nursery.
