Cultivars
'Pusillus'
This smaller clump forming plant grows to 100mm (4in) high and is commonly planted in aquariums tolerating wet conditions. It has a high water requirement once established. (Scale: 3-drops from 3)
'Variegatus'
This clump forming sedge-like plant is up to 300mm (1ft) tall by 450mm (18in) wide. It has arching rich green leaves that are striped in cream and the plant tolerates light frosts. It grows in full sun to semi shade and most soils including wet-boggy or well drained and moderately fertile.
It has a high water requirement once established. (Scale: 3-drops from 3) and is planted around water features or in rockeries and may be mass planted as an understorey.
'Ogon'
This clump forming sedge-like plantproduces grass-like foliage that has chartreuse and cream colours on the upper surface. It grows in full sun to semi shade tolerating most soils and it has a high water requirement once established. (Scale: 3-drops from 3). It is naturally found from China to Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
