The shrub is similar to the species except that it produces glossy light green leaves and abundant white flowers during spring.

This fast growing shrub to small tree up to 4m (12ft) tall and 3m (10ft) wide has bright green lustrous leaves tolerating a regular prune to shape. The fragrant flowers are arranged in a conical cluster appearing in late spring and followed by oblong red fruit.
