'Breeze' (R)
This compact perennial grows to 600mm (2ft) tall and wide forming a dense tidy clump with no brown canes as exhibited in the species. The small blue flowers appear in upright clusters during spring followed by attractive purple berries.
It is used in mass planting along borders or in planter boxes and once established it has a low water requirement (Scale: 1-drop from 3), responding to mulch and an occasional deep watering during dry periods, particularly for young plants.
'Cassa Blue'(R)
This upright Flax Lily grows to 400mm (16in) tall and wide with blue-green sword-shaped leaves and produces no cane-like stems. The small baby-blue flowers appear on an upright inflorescence to 550mm (22in) tall during early spring.
It is planted in containers and is used for foliage colour contrast in rockeries or garden beds. It is grown on the coast or inland tolerating cold or humid conditions and has a low water requirement (Scale: 1-drop from 3), responding to mulch and an occasional deep watering during dry periods, particularly for young plants.
'Little Jess'(R)
This compact dwarf form grows to 400mm (16in) tall and forms small clumps. The blue-purple flowers are followed by purple berries and the plant is excellent for mass planting or used along borders giving a Japanese garden effect.
It grows a wide range of soil types in full sun and is frost and drought tolerant with alow water requirement once established. (Scale: 1-drop from 3) It responds to mulching and an occasional watering during dry periods.
'Silver Streak'(R)
This clump forming perennial is a hybrid of unknown originand grows to 500mm (20in) tall by 400mm (16in) wide with strap-like foliage. The leaves are grey-green with contrasting white margins and the small pale-blue flowers appear during spring.
It is planted along borders or for mass planting and used as foliage contrast. It is also suitable for containers and is drought and semi-frost tolerant. It prefers a full sun to semi shaded open position and tolerates both clay and sandy well drained soils. Once established. (Scale: 1-drop from 3) It responds to mulching and an occasional watering during dry periods.
