Cultivars
'Hawera'
This plant is not directly a cultivar of Coprosma x kirkii but has simular characteristics. It is a prostrate mat forming plant with small oblong yellow-green leaves and yellowish stems and is used as a ground cover or spill over along embankments. It grows in a full sun position tolerating clay soils and has a low water requirement (Scale: 1-drop from 3). This plant may only be available in New Zealand.
'Kirkii'
This cloned is commonly the cultivated plant and is prostrate to semi erect to 1m (3ft) with dense foliage. It is used as a ground cover or spillover and is suitable to coastal positions tolerating salt spray.
'Variegata'
This plant has creamy white leaf margins and has a prostrate habit and is used as a ground cover.
