Cultivars
'Azalea'

This herbaceous perennial forms a compact clump habit with dark green foliage and produces abundant pink lilac bell-shaped flowers during spring. The inflorescence is just above the foliage on a shorter scape than the species.

'Bracteata'
This herbaceous bulbous perennial has fleshy glossy dark green, lax-lanceolate leaves and forms a clump habit. During spring it produces racemes of dark blue striped bell-shaped flowers that are accompanied by long-linear leaf-like bracts.

The inflorescence is held high above the foliage on a slender purplish scape and the plant is commonly planted along garden borders or in large containers. The seeds of very viable and plant may naturalised under ideal conditions.

'Excelsior'
This herbaceous perennial forms a clump habit with dark green foliage. During spring it produces violet-blue bell-shaped flowers that are striped in a pale blue.

'La Grandesse'
This is herbaceous perennial forms a clump habit with dark green foliage and during spring produces pure white nodding bell-shaped flowers.

'Mount Everest'
This herbaceous perennial has long-lanceolate glossy dark green leathery leaves and forms a clump. During spring it produces slender green scapes up to 600 mm (2ft) tall and terminates in a raceme of pure white funnel-shaped flowers, with yellow centres. It is a slightly larger than the species and flowers prolifically giving an excellent display along borders or in large containers.

'Rosabella'
This is herbaceous perennial forms a clump habit with dark green foliage and during spring it produces violet-pink bell-shaped flowers in terminal racemes during spring.
