Cypripedium parviflorum var. pubescens
This orchid has many common names including Venus'- shoe, Noah's Ark, Yellow Indian-shoe, Wipporwill-shoe, Golden Slipper, and American Valerian Umbilroot.

This clump forming perennial has upright slender stems with alternately arranged large ovate-lanceolate leaves with parallel veins and an acuminate apex. From spring to summer it produces faintly scented large yellow-greenish flowers with twisted sepals and petals. The nodding flowers arranged terminally above the foliage and the plant is naturally found around the margins of swamps or in woodlands.
