Cultivars
'Aureum'

This plant grows to 4m (12ft) tall with shoots that are bronze turning yellow green and has yellowish leaves. It is subject to burning off in direct sun and requires mid day shade.

'Compactum'
This shrub to 1.5m (5ft) forms a dense, compact habit and produces profuse flowers and fruits. It is an excellent plant for smaller gardens or may be planted in groups.

'Fruculuteo'
This plant produces yellow fruit that is tinted pink.

'Harvest Gold'
This plant produces rich yellow leaves; otherwise it is the same as 'Aureum'.

'Nanum'
This shrub to 600mm (2ft) and normally not producing flowers or fruit. The leaves are small and the plant dislikes wet or poorly drained soils. It is used as a low hedge.

'Roseum' (Sterile)
This shrub is known as theSnowball Tree. It has large heads of pale green to white rotate flowers. It has arising suckers from the base that are green ageing to pale grey in colour. No fruit is produce fruit as it is sterile and the simple leaves turn deep purple during autumn. It is commonly attacked by aphids distorting the foliage.

'Pink Sensation'
This plant produces larger pink flowers.

'Variegatum'
This plant produces leaves with white or cream variegations. There are several forms of this plant available.

'Xanthocarpum'
Large heads of flowers with clear yellow fruit.
